Elephants should not be in the Circus!

The title makes my opinion clear, but there are several other issues surrounding the outcry this week about Elephants being included in a Circus Act in Nottinghamshire.

Only Take Photos, Leave Only Footprints

It’s almost become a cliché, but “Only Take Photos, Leave Only Footprints” is the mantra that anyone taking photos of wildlife should observe at all times.

The idea is that you do not damage the environment or the creatures that you are photographing. You take as much care as possible and realise that your photo is less important than what you are photographing.

I've lived in England for 14 years but will always regard New Zealand as home. It wasn't until I travelled extensively that I realised just how privileged I was to grow up in New Zealand, and more specifically at Portobello, on the Otago Peninsula.
